Instruction Method:

  • Instructional methods will include one-on-one meetings with instructor as needed; practice drills as assigned in the syllabus and weekly assessments to monitor progress.
  • End of lesson reports must be printed and turned in to get credit for lessons competed.  All work must be turned in before the end of the quarter.  If you fail to submit your work on time, your grade will suffer.
  • If you need help with an assignment, I will be glad to meet with you.
  • Complete your assignments straight from the instructions in the book.  Lessons will be assigned according to your first assessment score.  Students scoring 25 GWAM or lower will complete lessons 1-60.  Students scoring 26 GWAM or higher will complete lessons 26 through 86.
  • The textbook is designed for Microsoft Word 2003.  You may always use the school lab and library computers, which have Word installed.  Therefore, computer problems are no excuse for late work.

Acts of academic dishonesty, including cheating and plagiarism, will not be tolerated.  Students caught doing so will be referred to the office of the President of Forrest College.

Plagiarism:  “You plagiarize when, intentionally or not, you use someone else’s words or ideas but fail to credit that person.  You plagiarize even when you do credit the author but use his exact words without indicating with quotation marks or block indentation.  You also plagiarize when you use words so close to those in your source, that if you placed your work next to the source, you would see that you could not have written what you did without the source at your elbow.”

(Booth, Wayne C., Colomb, Gregory G., & Williams, Joseph M. (1995)  The Craft of Research.  Chicago, IL:  The University of Chicago Press.)
