The FJC Student Medical Assistant Organization (SMAO), formed in September 2007 is run by FJC students of FJC who are enrolled in the Associate in Medical Assisting curriculum.  Their purpose is to become professionals networking with medical assistants in the community, and assisting in the community in various ways. The College is recognized by the South Carolina Department of Health Education Council (DHEC) as an official sponsor of candidates for Nurse Aid Certification.
